Walter began his career in the financial service industry more than 40 years ago. Prior to his leadership in sales and marketing at Davenport in the Asset Management division, he was a Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income Investment Banking at Wheat First Securities. He has served as a Davenport Board Member since 2004.

Walter graduated with a BA in history from the University of North Carolina and an MBA from Emory University. He is Series 7, 63, 65 and 24 registered with FINRA and is licensed to sell long-term care as well as life, accident and health insurance.

Active in the community, Walter serves as a coach and manager at Richmond Little League where he has been volunteering since its inception in 1984. Previously, he served on several not-for-profit organizations including Senior Connections and Grace House. In his free time, he enjoys golf, hunting, coaching baseball and chasing after his two grandsons, Wally and George. Walter and his wife, Leila, reside in Richmond, Virginia.
