Tom joined Davenport in July 2023 with more than 35 years of finance industry experience. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones for nearly 30 years. Tom earned an undergraduate degree from Virginia Military Institute and an MBA in finance from Virginia Tech.
In his free time, Tom attempts to bike daily. He has a fledgling fruit tree orchard and farm outside Marion, makes wooden bowls on his lathe, loves announcing Marion Scarlet Hurricane football games, and volunteers his time in the development of Blue Ridge Discovery Center. He is a member of First United Methodist Church, the Marion Rotary Club and the Smyth County Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Mary Beth, have two adult daughters.

He is licensed to offer insurance and annuity products to residents in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
