Ray joined the Staunton and Harrisonburg offices of Davenport in September 2021 and has more than 15 years of finance industry experience. Prior to joining the firm, Ray worked at Fiduciary Wealth Management for over two years and was a Vice President of Investment Analysis & Education at Rogers Financial for 10 years.
Ray has a demonstrated history of developing investment and planning strategies for retirement plan sponsors and individuals. He supports retirement plan sponsors by serving as the independent, investment fiduciary with the selection and monitoring of the investments while also working directly with participants so they will have access to a trusted partner as they prepare for a work optional life.
Ray believes that the same level of investment fiduciary support that has typically been reserved for institutions is needed for individual investors as well. Therefore, he also utilizes his financial planning and investment management experience to develop and manage personalized strategies for individuals and families to help them address their goals and objectives.
Ray grew up in West Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech and Master of Business Administration from James Madison University. He is an ACCREDITED INVESTMENT FIDCUCIARY® (AIF), a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP) and a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA). He is Series 6 and 65 registered with FINRA.
Active in the community, Ray is a board member of the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition; an advisory committee member for Young Life of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County; and a board member for New Creation VA. Ray and his wife, Jenn, stay busy with their four kids but in his free time, he enjoys getting out in the woods to ride bikes or trail run.
