Bob Forsyth, a seasoned investment professional, has more than 30 years of industry experience. Bob graduated from Washington & Lee University. Subsequent to his graduation, he honorably served as an officer in the U.S. Army. After his tour, he worked for a regional investment firm for four years. In 1990, Bob joined Davenport & Company and has been with the firm since.
In spite of the changes and volatility in the market through the years, Bob has remained consistently focused on building relationships with his clients. Each new client interaction begins with active listening which leads to a prioritization of your needs. Once he has identified your financial and life goals, he will develop an investment plan that takes into account your risk tolerance and time horizon.
Bob encourages his clients to be involved in an annual review of their financial and life goals. He will monitor your investment plan, and meet with you several times annually to discuss investment weighting and other necessary adjustments due to changes in the market and your personal financial goals. Bob takes great pride in educating his clients about their investments. He can assist in establishing 529 College Savings Plans, ROTH IRAs and IRA Rollovers, as well as understanding SIMPLE, SEP and Qualified plans.
With today’s highly accessible and readily available means of communication, Bob’s practice reaches well beyond his local region. He has been able to maintain and develop relationships with clients in other parts of the country and even around the world.
Bob is active in his community by staying involved with his church and tennis organizations. Over the years, he has been involved with the YMCA and local soccer organizations. During his tenure as a soccer coach, Bob was recognized by the Virginia Youth Soccer Organization as a recreational coach of the year for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He has served as President of the Board of Camp Holiday Trails, a summer camp for children with special needs. He and his wife, Lisa, reside in Charlottesville with their two children, Abigail and Henry.

He is licensed to offer insurance and annuity products to residents in Virginia.
