Prior to joining Davenport & Company in June 2021, Ted worked at Truist Investment Services, formerly BB&T Scott & Stringfellow, for 25 years as a Financial Advisor. Ted graduated from Brandeis University with a BA in Economics. He earned an MBA from the College of William & Mary’s Mason Graduate Business School, a Personal Financial Planner (PFP) certification from Old Dominion University. Ted graduated from The Norfolk Academy in 1980. He is Series 7, 31, 63 and 65 registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and is licensed to offer Life & Health insurance and Fixed & Variable annuity products.

A third-generation resident of Hampton Roads, Ted believes in supporting the community where he was raised. He is a past President of Ohef Sholom Temple and currently serves on its foundation board. He has also served on the boards of the Virginia Opera, Lee’s Friends – Helping People Live with Cancer, and the WHRO Foundation; as well as devoted time to various medical organizations, the Virginia Zoo, Physicians for Peace, and other community service organizations.

In his free time, Ted enjoys performing in local theater, kayaking the local waterways, reading science fiction and economic history, and spending time with his son, Chuck, and wife, Kendra.

Tina joined Davenport in June 2021 after 35 years as a Sales Assistant at Truist, formerly BB&T Scott & Stringfellow, where she was awarded the Outstanding Sales Assistant award in 2007. She maintains a high standard of care and service for clients today. Tina has worked with Ted Kaufman for over 10 years, providing customer service and operational support. Tina is active in her church and volunteers for the Leukemia Foundation. In her free time, she enjoys reading, doing crafts, traveling, and spending time with family including her husband, Bill, their adult children and expanding supply of grandchildren.
