Senior Vice President-Investments
tkaufman@investdavenport.com

Prior to joining Davenport & Company in June 2021, Ted worked at Truist Investment Services, formerly BB&T, Scott & Stringfellow, for 25 years as a Financial Advisor. His experience includes financial services, retirement planning and investment management. Ted believes that conservative, value-driven investing relies on diversification; regular, disciplined allocation; and rebalancing of assets. He works closely with high-tax bracket clients and customizes portfolios to meet clients’ estate and retirement planning needs. By using capital preservation strategies, he strives to produce substantial, consistent, and tax-efficient returns.*

Ted graduated from Brandeis University with a BA in Economics. He earned an MBA from the College of William & Mary and a Personal Financial Planning (PFP) degree from Old Dominion University. He is Series 7, 31, 63 and 65 registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and is licensed to offer insurance and annuity products.

A third-generation resident of Hampton Roads, Ted believes in supporting the community where he was raised. He is a past President of Ohef Sholom Temple and currently serves on its foundation board. He has also served on the boards of the Virginia Opera, Lee’s Friends – Helping People Live with Cancer, and the WHRO Foundation; as well as devoted time to various medical organizations, the Virginia Zoo, Physicians for Peace, and other community service organizations.

In his free time, Ted enjoys performing in local theater, kayaking the local waterways, reading science fiction and economic history, and spending time with his son, Chuck.
