Herbert has more than 40 years of financial analysis and budgeting experience. Before joining Davenport in 1998, Herbert served as a Vice President of United Virginia/Crestar Bank where he gained experience in investments, financial analysis and budgeting, and general accounting. He is Series 7, 63, 65 and 24 registered and licensed to sell annuities and long-term care insurance.

Herbert and his wife, Nancy, both attended Virginia Tech. They have four adult children, all of whom are big football fans. He enjoys spending quality time with them cheering on Virginia Tech, JMU and Alabama. Outside of work, his biggest passion is family and gardening, especially growing day lilies and azaleas.

Herb joined Davenport in 2012 and has more than 10 years of experience in the finance industry. Before becoming a Financial Advisor, he gained valuable experience working for seven years on the firm’s treasury management desk assisting with reconciling Davenport bank accounts and working with partner banks on treasury needs and underlying collateral. He then transitioned to the Overlay Trading area where for three years he traded and managed accounts in the ETF, ManagerSelect and UMA investment products.

Herb graduated from University of Alabama with a degree in Finance. He is Series 7 and 66 registered with FINRA. He is a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and is an avid reader of non-fiction and fiction. In his free time, Herb also enjoys playing golf, fishing, cooking, home improvement projects, watching movies and traveling to Alabama sporting events.

Liz joined Davenport & Company in December 2015. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Member Engagement Manager at National Association of Corporate Directors where she worked with boards of directors providing corporate governance best practices and education. She utilizes her background in building relationships to assist the group in providing exceptional service to clients.

Liz is a graduate of Richmond, the American International University in London with a degree in International Relations. She is Series 7 and 66 registered. Liz is a Level One Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and certified level 2 sommelier with the Wine and Spirits Education Trust.

Julia joined Davenport in January 2023. Prior to joining Davenport, she was the assistant manager of a family run restaurant in Blacksburg, Virginia. Julia graduated from Virginia Tech in 2022 with a B.S. degree in Finance with a focus in investment management. She utilizes her service industry experience and her studies in finance to provide exceptional customer service to clients.

Julia is Series 7 and 66 registered with FINRA and hopes to pursue a CFA or CFP in the near future. In her free time, she enjoys a variety of hobbies including playing music, baking, and exploring the outdoors. She is a member of a powerlifting club and competes in multiple meets throughout the year.
