Having spent most of his career at Davenport & Company, Jim joined the firm as a Financial Advisor in 1989. He was elected to Davenport’s Board of Directors in 2006 and has served as a Managing Director since 2015. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Financial Advisor at Prudential Bache for two years.

Jim graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.A. degree in Economics. He is Series 7, 63, 65 and 24 registered with Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and also is licensed to assist with life and health insurance needs.

Invested in the community, Jim has served as President of the Walter J. Payne Foundation since 2001; the Foundation gives grants to nonprofits in Appomattox and Prince Edward counties in Virginia. Jim and his wife, Kelly, have three adult sons. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors doing conservation projects on his farm, fishing, hunting, hiking and traveling.

Michael joined the Charlottesville office of Davenport & Company and Crawley Wealth Advisors as an Investment Trainee in 2020. He quickly completed the required exams to become an Associate Financial Advisor before becoming a Financial Advisor in 2023. He is Series 7 and 66 registered with FINRA and is licensed to assist with life and health insurance needs. Michael strives to build long-term relationships with clients across generations and specializes in working with growing families and small businesses.

Michael graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Environmental Sciences and a B.A. in Religious Studies. While at UVA, he swam on the ACC Championship-winning 2009-2010 men’s swimming and diving team.  Prior to joining Davenport, Michael worked in the private sector in digital marketing and in data analytics at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

Active in his community, Michael enjoys serving in his local church, volunteering with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, and helping build multi-use trails with his local mountain bike club. He also serves as a board member with the Nelson County Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of the Charlottesville Chamber. Michael cherishes spending time with his wife, Bethany, two precious kids, mountain biking and hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and cooking for family and friends. An avid UVA fan, Michael rarely misses Cavalier basketball games.

Whitney provides administrative and operational support to the team and assists clients with account paperwork and their online accounts. Prior to joining Davenport in May 2023, she worked as a Vault Teller for eight years at UVA Community Credit Union. In this role, she provided customer service and communication and assisted tellers and member service representatives. Whitney was born and raised in Stanardsville, a small town outside of Charlottesville. In her free time, Whitney enjoys reading and spending time with her two daughters, Harper and Lillian.
