Davenport & Company names Dennis Tarrant as Manager for Institutional Equity Sales & Trading
RICHMOND VA — I. Lee Chapman IV, SVP — Executive Administration, announced that Dennis Tarrant has been named Manager of Institutional Equity Sales & Trading. Tarrant joined Davenport's Institutional Sales Group in 2006, and has managed the Corporate & Executive trading business.
In his new role, Tarrant will oversee all Institutional Equity Sales & Trading activities of Davenport and will work closely with the Equity Research department to provide buy-side clients with niche-oriented ideas, timely service, and quality execution. Davenport’s Institutional Equity Sales & Trading Group consists of 12 sales and trading professionals. They work closely with Davenport Research Analysts who cover approximately 200 local, regional, and sector-focused companies.

Prior to joining Davenport, Tarrant worked with Wachovia and Wheat, First Securities for 21 years where he held various roles including Senior Vice President, Investment Banking and Managing Director of Corporate & Executive Services. Tarrant received his MBA and BA degree in Economics from the University of Richmond.
