CORPORATE ACTIONS ASSOCIATE

JOB SUMMARY
This intermediate level, non-exempt position is primarily responsible for processing Dividends and Proxy.  This position requires continuous cross-training in the areas of Voluntary and Mandatory Reorganization and Redemptions in order to perform other duties as necessary.  
 
The incumbent of this position is considered essential personnel and should expect to work the entire business day when the Stock Exchanges are open, including but not limited to, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and other days when the market closes early.  The incumbent of this position must be aware of and available for all peak processing dates for this desk (1st, 15th, and the last business day of the month) and plan his or her schedule accordingly to ensure adequate coverage in the event that there is a need for time-off during peak periods.
 
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Duties and Requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Cross-training in other areas of Securities Services
  • Continuous communication with other Operational team members, internal clients and external entities such as, but not limited to, transfer agents, companies and legal counsel
  • Vigilance to maintain all follow-up communications without constant oversight or direction from a Supervisor
  • Ability to learn and keep abreast of changes within industry and firm-defined rules and regulations regarding all aspects of the Securities Services area
  • Strong attention to detail that leads to error-free, logical, and presentable results
  • Extremely customer-oriented to include: effective thinking and acting in support of the customer; providing timely response and resolution of customer problems; clear understanding of all downstream impacts that may affect customer accounts, including the departmental and firm impacts of inaccurate processing
  • Work independently with little to no supervision once fully trained
  • Ability to quickly identify and communicate significant information to a Supervisor
  • Willingness to work proactively with all Operations Supervisors as needed
  • Strong commitment to the specific job responsibilities, department and firm
  • Exhibits a team player mentality at all times
  • Must perform work consistently
  • Willingness to participate in any and all changes to assigned duties, requirements or roles
  • Performing other tasks as necessary that are not listed in this description, even if outside of the Securities Services area
Other Qualifications & Requirements
  • 3 years industry experience preferred or equivalent skill set to meet essential job duties
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Excellent skills to research both mathematically and analytically
  • Ability to learn rapidly
  • Ability to respond quickly to new instructions, situations, methods and procedures
  • Carry out all required tasks at fully satisfactory levels while meeting the requirements and expectations of the job
  • Maintain an organized desk at all times so that all tasks and related action items will be easily identifiable and keep all desk policies up-to-date
  • Continue to acquire and display job knowledge necessary to perform the duties essential to the position
  • Be proactive and not reactive in all aspects of the daily job functions; identify the issue at hand, take prompt action, and notify supervisor as needed
  • Strive for maximum team performance
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
